Former lawmaker(in the 18th national assembly) Youngah Park, professor of physics in Myungji University has been appointed as the 7th President of KISTEP. 

KISTEP said that professor Youngah Park has been ed as Director in the provisional board of directors’ meeting held on 24th, and finalized through the approval of Minister of Ministry of Science ICT, and Future Planning, on 26th.

New President Youngah Park, graduated from department of physics in Seoul University, holds a Ph.D in physics of University of Pennsylvania. Since then, she has served as main titles in domestic/international physical academics such as vice-president of Korea Institute of Physics, director of organizing committee for the 3rd World Women Championships in World Federation of Physics etc., and also served as a lawmaker in the 18th national assembly during her 20 years of tenure as professor in physics of Myungji University since 1989. Her term of office is for 3 years till 30th September, 2016.
