KISTEP held ‘Asian Research Policy Symposium 2011’ at The Plaza Hotel Seoul on 31 August. ‘Asian Research Policy(ARP)’ is an English journal that KISTEP began to publish in March last year to provide an in-depth academic analysis of domestic and overseas S&T policies and R&D related issues and offer policy alternatives.
At the first symposium after ARP published its first edition, Yeom Jae-Ho, professor of Department of Public Administration, Korea University and the editor-in-chief of ARP delivered the opening address, Lee June-Seung, president of KISTEP offered congratulatory remarks, Dr. Michael Keenan of OECD, a guest speaker, talked about ‘OECD Innovation Policy Platforms’ and Prof. Yonekura Seiichiro of Hitotsubashi University, another guest speaker, talked about ‘The Possibility of Innovation in the wake of Japan Earthquake & Tsunami.’ The symposium ended with an awards ceremony for prize winners of the ‘KISTEP Thesis Contest’ on the subject of Asian S&T policies.
