KISTEP held the lecture on leaders by inviting Mr. Lee Koohyoung the CTO as well as the co-founder of the venture Neurosky located in Silicon Valley in U.S.A on April 3. 

Mr. Lee Gu-hyeong majored in human engineering at Seoul National University and Virginia Tech, worked as an adjunct professor in KAIST and the research center of LG Electronics, and co-founded the brainwave study venture Neurosky in 2004.

Neurosky is striving to develop the neuro-interface technologies operating computers, games, toys, or others by measuring human cognitions, emotions, and emotion changes and converting them into controlling signals with brainwave measurement and analysis technologies. Those technologies have won the TechAmerica Innovator Award and been gaining attention all around the world in the field of the brainwave study.  

In the lecture with theme of ‘the Creative Technology Development through Fusion between Digital and Emotion’, he mentioned Steve Jobs as an example and emphasized that the genuine creativeness comes from team work and co-work oriented connections.  

He also said “Silicon Valley is where everybody can start business but nobody cares. In other words, it is a land of opportunities but not a land of promises.” He added brief deion on foundations and investing environment in the area based on his own experiences. Moreover, he gave a demonstration of ‘a head set moving by brainwave changes’, which has been produced with his company’s technologies.
