Inauguration of the 7th President, Youngah Park in KISTEP

KISTEP has held an inauguration of the 7th president,Youngah Park on October 1.
In her inaugural address, Youngah Park has highlighted by saying “KISTEP will be developed as a specialized organization to plan and evaluate the global S&T which creates the knowledge of science and technology and integral technology·performance through leading R&D investment, and lead the era of creative economy” and in addition, “We will put the efforts to create employment and contribute to the overall public economy to promote and realize the policy of creative economy.”
With this, she has mentioned the purpose of future operation of the organization as ▶to create vitruous structure through organic combination of the function of KISTEP across the overall national R&D such as future estimation, technology estimation, policy planning, budget adjustement and evaluation etc., ▶To reinforce the system for fair and neutral evaluation and budget support, ▶To increase the Knowledge-based start-ups and good employment by creating knowledge on national R&D and building the system of diffusion, ▶ To activate international cooperation based on the capacity and performance of KISTEP.
She also has presented her ambition as the fist woman presidnet in KISTEP, by saying “I will do my best for national expectation and periodical consciousness with warm and horizontal leadership of woman scientist and transparent business principles” and “I will reinforce the capacity of each member of KISTEP through the programs operating the organization based on morality and rationality, and reinforcing the specialty of the task for the members of KISTEP to have vision and sense of duty.”

On the other hand, Byungdoo Son, board president of KISTEP, Wangyu Jo, former minister, Sangjoo Kim, former president of the National Academy of Science, Hogun Park, former minister, and Hyesuk Lee, Director of Center of Women in Science, Engineering and Technology have participate to congratulate the inauguration.
