KISTEP held the 『5th KISTEP-ISTIC S&T Training Program for High level Policy Makers in Developing Countries』 in collaboration with ISTIC, the Support institution for science and technology cooperation in developing countries, located in Malaysia, for 5 days from 11th to 15th November.
 
With its 5th anniversary, this course of innovation of science and technology has been held successfully with participation of 24 decision-maker over the level of director of the departments related to science and technology in 17 countries in total such as Asia(Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Uzbekistan etc.), Africa(Uganda, Malawi, Namibia etc.) and South America(Costa Rica, Ecuador).
 
The course was composed with the lectures of experts related to policy of science and technology, technology forecasting and R&D planning·evaluation, presentation and discussion on the status of science and technology per each participating country, visits of R&D Industry and research facility, and presentation of Korean traditional culture etc. for 3 days.
 
The expert lecture has been progressed for 3 days with technology forecasting, 3rd Science and technology plan in Korea, R&D program evaluation, preliminary feasibility study etc. On the 4th day, the visits have been implemented in the facility related to green technology and research complex such as KIA motors, Shihwa tidal power plant, and Urban Maglev Practical Agency etc.
 

 

On the other hand, KISTEP and ISTIC have agreed to extend the project of cooperation for Science, Technology and Innovation Education for 5 years which had been promoted since 2009, and concluded the related work contract.
