KISTEP Held 2021 First Half Retirement Ceremony

On June 29, KISTEP held a retirement ceremony for senior researchers Chi-yong Kim, Gu-sun Park and Jang-jae Lee at the auditorium on the first floor of the main building. Starting with the national ceremony, the event was held in the order of KISTEP President Sang-sun Kim's congratulatory speech, the introduction of the retiree's biography, the commemorative plaque and bouquet, the retirement speech, and the special event photographs, following the government's guidelines to prevent COVID-19.

Ki-yong Kim has served as the head of the Knowledge Spreading Division, Policy Planning Division, and Audit Office since KISTEP was established in 1999, starting his career with CSTP (the Science and Technology Policy Research and Assessment Center), affiliated with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 1990.

Gu-sun Park has been dedicated in the field of Science and Technology policy planning serving as a senior researcher at the Beijing Office of the Korea-China Science and Technology Cooperation Center, a policy planning director and a vice president at KISTEP, and a president of the National Science and Technology Committee in 2011 and Osong High-tech Medical Industry Promotion Foundation in 2018.

Senior researcher Jang-jae Lee served as head of KISTEP Coordination Evaluation Group, Strategic Development Group, and Innovation Strategy Institute, head of Korea Federation of Science and Technology Organizations, and 15th Chairman of Korea Technology Innovation Society, contributing to the foundation of NIS.



In their retirement speeches, they said they will continue their efforts to enhance the status of the institution and develop national science and technology as honorary researchers after retirement.
