Abstract

This study explores AI policy trends in Korea, with a dual focus on promoting AI technology and mitigating its adverse effects.

This paper analyzes and summarizes the South Korean government’s artificial intelligence (AI) policies released through the first half of 2024. The Korean government has been pursuing various policies to promote the development and social acceptance of AI technology while strengthening efforts to prevent its negative effects and address related social and ethical issues. This study presents strategic measures for Korea to achieve sustainable development in the AI field by forecasting future policy directions. The key findings of this research are expected to provide valuable insights for policy researchers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
