Perspective of Artificial Intelligence Development in Indonesia: Progress, Challenges, and Ethical Issues

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most potent and influential technological forces current, with the potential to drastically change a variety of industries. Indonesian government sees AI as vital technologies and several strategies have been developed to enhanced the country’s AI capacity and capability. Several milestones on AI development has been achieved in various sectors including in in the agricultural sectors in Indonesia. This is driven by Indonesia’s increasing scientific and technological capabilities in AI. However, several challenges are still exits due to economic barrier and imbalance growth of AI experts to the industrial needs. Good strategies and policy need to be developed to further expedite AI development without neglecting human rights values.
