○ Promotion background
Uncertain future challenges should be forecasted and response strategy against them should be prepared for Korea to search the creative and leading science and technology strategy, rather than the existing follower-type strategy.
KISTEP Technology Forecasting Center holds the 3rd International Foresight Symposium to discuss about the strategy against future challenges at the national level, and response strategy of the public and private sector.

Arie Rip
○ Professor, University of Twente in Netherland
○ Performed many studies in the area of sociology of science and technology, technology impact analysis, nano technology policy, and research policy, after changing his majority from physical chemistry to science, technology and society. Also, actively participated in policy-making.
○ Former president of Society for Social Studies of Science (1988-1989), former president of Graduate School of Science, Technology, and Culture in Netherland, former member of the prediction specialist group for future promising technology in Europe. He was invited as a key address presenter for various international symposiums.

Dominic McAllister
○ Councilor of science and technology, U.K. Embassy in Korea (2009 ? as of now)
○ Studies chemistry at Kings College, and obtained M.A. in Chinese history and international relations. Former councilor of trade and investment, U.K. Embassy in Caracas (2004 ~ 2008), and high ranking policy advisor (2008) of the International Science Innovation Team in Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS).
○ Currently, he is playing an active role in establishing the science and technology cooperation relation between Korea and U.K., and in particular, he is contributing to the research cooperation area.

Richard Silberglitt
○ Researcher, RAND in the U.S.
○ Obtained Ph.D. in solid state physics, and performed many studies and delivered lectures regarding future promising technology prediction. Currently, he is acting as a technology planning and evaluation specialist including future prediction, while predicting the global technology trend, and evaluating the nano technology roadmap and R&D portfolio.
○ The lead author of “The Global Technology Revolution 2020” and participated in Chemistry Industry Vision 2020 and National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI).
