Korea Institue of S&T Evaluation and Planning (KISTEP) announced ‘the population aging’ as the core trend expected to have the biggest ripple effect in Korean society within next 10 years and the top ten future promising technologies to handle the issues.

‘The top 10 future promising technologies to lead the smart aging’ are the technologies to keep the mental vitality and the active sociality based on the physical fitness which means the aged without diseases.  

KISTEP has researched and studied the top ten future promising technologies to create economic additional values and to reduce social opportunity costs by analyzing and forecasting the future technologies in various views and perspectives since 2009.

It is the new for this year ing the future promising technologies to counteract the future core trend drawn by analyzing big data.  

The process was: drawing the ten future Korean trends people think through analyzing the searching query (the number of questions and correlation) of the portal site, Daum (www.daum.net) and finally ing the one core trend ‘population aging’ by considering the substantiality, ripple effects, and accessibility in aspects of the science and technology.  

KISTEP also analyzed the future issues on the population aging and ed 75 nominated technologies required for the products and services to handle the future.  

The final ion of the top ten future promising technologies was by assessment of the internal and external experts based on practicality (in ten years or more), concreteness and progressivity of the technologies, and economical and technological ripple effects amongst the ed nineteen core technologies through appropriateness evaluation.  

The top ten future promising technologies are ed as leading ''''Smart Aging'''' with vitality and fitness and divided into three categories: technologies to keep fitness for the aged, to secure the convenience and safety in daily life, and to support economic stabilization for individuals and the country. Furthermore, the top ten future promising technologies are ▶ neural stem cell cures, ▶nano-bio medical sensor, ▶ conversation typed natural language processing, ▶ bio-signal interface, ▶ ultrahigh speed genome interpreting technique, ▶ driverless autonomous vehicle, ▶ molecular image disease-diagnosis, ▶ life-care service robot, ▶ muscular strength support robot suit, and ▶ tangible smart work.
