Awards ceremony for 2010 excellent R&D funds management agencies & universities

The Ministry of Education, Science & Technology and KISTEP jointly held ‘the Certificate Award Ceremony for Excellent R&D Funds Management Institutions’ at the Plaza Hotel Seoul on January 17.
 

 The ceremony was organized to award certificates to 8 R&D institutions and 5 universities chosen through ‘certification evaluation’ of R&D funds management and to compliment their efforts. The eight R&D institutions include Korea Institute of Science and Technology, Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, Korea institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources, Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science, Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology, Korea Aerospace Research Institute. The five universities ed include Korea University, SungKyunKwan University, Chonnam National University, Chungnam National University and Chungbuk National University.
 

The Excellent R&D Fund Management Certification System involves an elaborate evaluation of the institutions’ R&D management systems and awards government certificates and incentives to those institutions that meet certain criteria. The system is designed to step up the transparency and efficiency of the national R&D budget execution. It has been in force since 2007 with an eventual goal of uplifting the national R&D funds management capabilities.
