Lee June-seung, President of KISTEP, contributed an article on the investment in blue skies researches to Nature, a British scientific journal, in its latest edition of October 18.  

President Lee’s writing is posted on the Comment corner (p.331) along with the opinions of other S&T experts from eight countries including Singapore, Switzerland, Egypt and Brazil on the ways that each country has used to mobilize for the past ten years to build up its S&T capability and boost its researches.

In his article titled “Back blue-skies work,” President Lee emphasized that Korea must recognize the fact that it cannot sustain its prosperity with imitation of cutting-edge products any longer and that it needs to contribute to creating basic knowledge through investments in blue skies researches in order to further enhance its S&T capability.
