On November 1, a public hearing on the mid-term national S&T development strategies (proposals) was held at EL Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul. The gathering was hosted by KISTEP under the auspices of NSTC.

More than 200 people including experts from industries, academy and research institutes and the general public participated in the event. A key-note address was made on the mid-term national S&T development strategies (proposals). Two sessions followed with the topics of ‘the mid- and long-term S&T vision and policy directions’ and ‘the national mid- and long-term investment directions.’

Session 1 was titled ‘the mid- and long-term S&T vision and policy directions.’ Im Yeong-mo, manager of NSTC made a presentation on the topic. Prof. Seo Jin-ho of Seoul National University led the panel discussion.

Session w began with the presentation by Son Byeong-ho, head of Office of S&T Policy & Planning. The panel discussion was led by O Sang-rok, director of robot-based education support division of KIST.
