A forum on ‘One-year Achievement and Development of Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS) for R&D’ was held by KISTEP and the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) on March 22 (Mon) at the L tower to mark the 1st year of commissioning a PFS on national R&D programs.

A total of 43 cases has undergone the investigation in response to the scale-up of R&D programs and soaring demand over the past year since the R&D PFS was commissioned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF) to the MSTI. There were practical improvements such that the period required for each R&D PFS was reduced by more than half, on average of about six months, through the reform of the system focusing on the speed of performing PFS and S&T subjected for PFS and the evaluation looked more into ‘scientific feasibility’ than ‘economic feasibility.’
