‘The Briefing on the 2020 Government R&D Programs Budget’ was held on May 13th (Mon) at the K hotel Seoul, organized by KISTEP and hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and Presidential Advisory Body for the Innovation of National S&T (PASCST).

Divided into technical and policy groups, the main R&D programs were explained and discussed among expert committee members in order to allocate and coordinate budget for national R&D programs in 2020 at the briefing.

The expert committee members in 7 fields, including public space, energy environment, mechanic materials, ICT convergence, biomedical, the basic science and national defense, had in-depth discussions on core and the government-funded research institutes’ programs for 5 days.

Each ministry explained the related programs and required resources for 2020 to expert committee members and is expected to receive opinions from the expert committee members. Various opinions on technical feasibility, performance improvement plans, and promoting performance and appropriate budget collected through the briefing will be used as important data for future deliberations.
