KISTEP held the 5th Asian Innovation Forum

The 5th Asian Innovation Forum (AIF), jointly created by Asian Society for Innovation and Policy Conference (ASIP) and KISTEP, was held in University of the Philippines Diiman from October 3 to 5.
 
 
The 9th Asian Society for Innovation and Policy Conference (ASIP) and the 5th Asian Innovation Forum (AIF) were jointly held under the cooperation of the three organizations, ASIP, KISTEP and University of the Philippines Diiman, and constituted of 14 sessions, such as technologies and policies for small·medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), future ecosystem of start-ups and SMEs, and economy of techniques, under the theme of ‘Technology and Innvation for SMEs’.


 
 

 

The forum was attended by Hee-yoon Choi (President, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI)), Young Il Park (Professor, Ewha Womans University (former Vice-minister of MSIT)), Blesila A. Lantayona (Undersecretary, Department of Trade and Industry Philippines), Brenda Nazareth-Manzano (Undersecretary for Regional Operations, Department of Science and Technology Philippines), and 100 domestic and foreign experts on S&T innovation policy. During the welcome address by Chancellor Michael L. Tan of University of the Philippines Diiman, he said that “4 million of Filipinos are depending on SMEs, and the representatives are modernization of traditional clothes by material developments and eco-friendly·high-efficient Jeepney by manufacture innovation. This forum was prepared to think about the future to create together by discussing university-level of researches and governmental systems.”
 

The Asian Innovation Forum was first held in 2015 under the auspices of KISTEP, and has prepared a place to discuss innovative strategies and experiences in Asian regions with the center of Asian STI Think Tanks Network with 24 institutes from 13 countries.
