Launching of ‘Working Group for Improvement on R&D System’

On October 14th, Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) officially launched the ‘Working Group for Improvement on R&D System(Managing director Kyung-mi Lee)’ which consists of private experts in industry, school, and institute.
The managing director of working group is Ms. Kyung-mi Lee (Vice President, Sungkyunkwan Life&Health Co.,Ltd) and the group consists of 10 members. Its main objective is a mutual cooperation between a government and private experts to make a mid –to long-term solution for contentious issues in national R&D system.
The working group will mainly focus on fulfilling its main task such as the improvement of managing research performance, the continual challenge to researchers and institutes and the innovation of R&D system. It aims to make a comprehensive policy suggestion for MSIT for 3 months, and in the next year, MSIT and the group will listen to the opinions from researchers.
Director General Sung-soo Kim (MSIT) explained the purpose of group is on solving structural problems about R&D system with a cooperation between a government and private experts, and also he emphasized the group will try to make a improvement plan arousing sympathy of researchers at all time.
