[The 130th Wednesday Forum] R&D for the Green New Deal and Carbon Neutrality

In the midst of growing demand for low carbon and eco-friendly economies to cope with climate change, KISTEP hosted the 130th Wednesday Forum, , on February 17, 2021 at KISTEP international conference room, in order to discuss how government should shift gears to successful transition to a carbon neutral society.
This forum was held online without public attendees due to COVID-19 pandemic, and it can be found online on KISTEP YouTube channel.

President of KISTEP, Sang-Seon Kim, addressed in the opening remark, “Countries around the world are striving to break away from fossil fuel-based economies to sustainable carbon neutral economies through the expansion of renewable energy, eco-friendly mobility, and the transition to low-carbon emission industries,” and added the importance of the forum, “It is time when we need to actively discuss the role of government-induced R&D and cooperation with the private sector to achieve carbon neutrality, economic growth and quality of life improvement at the same time through the Green New Deal and Carbon Neutral Promotion Strategy.”
Starting with the topic presentation by professor Kim Jung-in at Chung-Ang University, Lee Gil-woo, head of the KISTEP Business Coordination Division, Ahn Yoon-ki, director of the Korea Transportation Research Institute, Yoon Jae-ho, and Lee Il-hwan, director of the KISTEP Center for Big Science & Energy R&D Coordination, participated.
