KISTEP participated in the US-Korea Conference on Science, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (UKC 2022) held on August 17-20 in Arlington, Virginia.

Under the theme of 'Science and Technology in the Wake of the Pandemic,' US-Korea Conference was held with 1,500 Korean and Korean-American scientists and engineers attended. The conference program included plenary sessions and around 20 topic/technical sessions.

At the UKC 2022, President Byung-Seon Jeong participated in △Science Diplomacy Forum, △Chey Institute for Advanced Studies Meeting, △US-Korea Science and Technology Innovation Talk Concert, △SEED Workshop to discuss S&T cooperation between Korea and the US and the direction of S&T diplomacy in the post-pandemic era.

While in Washington DC, KISTEP also paid an official visit to the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) and the Information Technology & Innovation Foundation (ITIF). The Innovation Lab at GAO introduced research activities such as artificial intelligence-based analysis and simulation to strengthen audit and evaluation capabilities, and discussed future collaboration plans with KISTEP. At the ITIF, KISTEP discussed the areas and future directions of US-Korea STI cooperation.

In addition, KISTEP operated a sponsor booth at UKC 2022 to introduce the functions and major research activities of KISTEP and distribute English publications for networking with Korean-American scientists and engineers.
