The '2023 Science and ICT Day Celebration' was held on April 21 at the International Conference Room of the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST). At this event, the Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Jong-Ho Lee) and the Korea Communications Commission (Chairman Sang-hyuk Han) awarded government commendations to 273 individuals in celebration of the 56th Science Day and the 68th ICT Day, recognizing their contributions to the promotion of S&T, ICT, and national R&D.

KISTEP researchers including △Kil-Woo Lee, △Sea Hong Oh, △Munbong Shin and △Hong-Young Kim received the awards.

Dr. Kil-Woo Lee received the Jinbo Medal of the Order of Science and Technology Merit for his contribution to enhancing R&D productivity and policy efficiency by improving the national R&D management system such as R&D management and regulations, budget allocation and coordination, program evaluation, and performance policy.

△ Sea Hong Oh, Senior Research Fellow, Center for Strategy Planning

Dr. Sea Hong Oh received the Science and Technology Medal for his dedication to national R&D program planning, performance evaluation and dissemination, and regulation reform and for his contributions to the development of S&T through activities in relevant organizations.

△ Munbong Shin, Managing Director, IRIS Working Group

Dr. Munbong Shin received the Presidential Citation for his contribution to enhancing research investment efficiency and promoting S&T innovation by leading the research system, budget allocation and coordination, feasibility studies, and S&T information system establishment.

△ Hong-Young Kim, Director, Center for R&D Performance Diffusion

Dr. Hong-Young Kim received the Prime Minister's Citation for his dedication to enhancing national R&D innovation capabilities by presenting efficient investment strategies and promoting regulation reform in the areas of government R&D budget allocation and coordination, and utilization of research results.
