KISTEP signed MOU with SNU Institute for Future Strategy

KISTEP and Seoul National University Institute for Future Strategy (IFS) held a joint forum on September 26 at KOFST under the theme of “The era of technology hegemony: directions and strategies for global cooperation in S&T in Korea” and signed an MOU to establish a cooperation system between the two institutes.

President Byung-Seon Jeong emphasized the significance of the cooperation, saying, “It is quite encouraging that KISTEP, a leading think-tank in S&T innovation policy, and IFS, a transdisciplinary think-tank that connects government, society, and industry, have begun mutual cooperation. We hope that this will serve as an opportunity to continue discussion among all sectors of society on national strategic technologies in a rapidly changing economic and security environment.” Based upon this MOU, the two organizations plan to pursue various cooperation such as ▲Discovering issues and establishing agendas related to technology hegemony, economic security, and global supply chain, ▲Establishing R&D, HR training, and international cooperation policies to foster national strategic technologies, ▲Developing carbon-neutral national strategies centered on climate change response, ▲Developing S&T innovation policy-related knowledge and data sharing and analysis methodologies, ▲Developing channels for cooperation between global think-tanks and exchanging human resources and experts, and ▲Holding joint forums and seminars to spread and share the results of cooperation.

KISTEP and IFS plan to prepare global R&D cooperation strategies such as joint research and exchange of experts, and to spread the results of cooperation across related fields such as industry, economy, diplomacy, and security.
