Since 1999, KISTEP has firmly maintained its ground for the advancement of science, technology and innovation.

KISTEP, as the forerunners of innovation transition era, has led the innovation in national R&D cycle from S&T policy planning, technology foresight, R&D budget coordination and allocation, to government R&D program analysis and evaluation.

Today, the role and responsibility of S&T have become more important and emphasized, as we are facing critical challenges such as technology hegemony, pandemic crisis, digital transformation and climate change.

As a national STI think tank, KISTEP dedicates to build the most effective strategies and framework to promote STI-driven growth.

We will support industries to secure global competitiveness on cutting edge technologies, and provide the environment for universities and institutes to achieve world-class R&D performances and conduct challenging researches.

KISTEP will advance National Innovation System of Korea to the next level to promote close cooperation between innovation actors and to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of national R&D investment.
